If you do the full 18 and your husband takes 6+ months will some of that be unpaid I presume? Or how does that all work out? So awesome you guys are able to get that much time off combined!

As a young parent myself and knowing a bit of your story, I’d say go for as much time off during the little ones life as possible 🙂 You’re wellllllll on your way to FI and can coast a bit for now. Just my two cents, but I know that’s hard to hear when you’re a go-getter type personality (as I am too) and likely want to see your FI goal ASAP.

Thank you Heather! Yea, not knowing the gender definitely keeps the pregnancy exciting! Although Finn insists she’s having a sister and is going to be “crushed” if it’s a boy lol. Ah so glad you guys were able to go the extended leave route this go around and that your husband is able to take some time off as well. Congrats on your two little ones as well! And yes, the social systems here really are top notch! 🙂

Thank you!! Nic was having some major hip pain for about a month and went to see a prenatal chiro and poof she magically healed the pain in one session, so that was awesome! And yes, here’s hoping to open borders in the near future! My moms been itching to come up for a visit!

Thank you Cass! Yea I realized when I read a few April Fools posts earlier in the day that the timing of scheduling this reveal wasn’t ideal hah, oh well!

And yea for sure, we’re all about being transparent and trying to show the true cost of things. 🙂 We got SUPER lucky with IUI working as quickly as it did for both pregnancies. We were definitely expecting it to take longer and cost more.

Thank you Mary! Having the itch to Declutter is real! I totally get that! That was Nic’s argument for wanting to find out the gender this time but I stayed strong and insisted we waited after she put me through the ringer waiting on the gender for baby 1 lol!

Whoa, yes will definitely be contacting you if/when we head out west in early 2022 – would love to meet up! (That’s what this blog is all about for me, making connections with like minded folks.) Would love to hear more about world schooling as I’m super intrigued by it but also equally as intimidated by it ha. What part of VanIsle are you in? We’re thinking of staying in the Ladysmith area for the majority and a week or so further north in the Comox/Courtenay area.
